This Privacy Policy describes how Svoi Map ("we", "our service") collects, uses, and protects the personal data of users of the Svoi Map mobile app and the website http://svoimap.com.

1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the service:

  • Account data: name, email, phone (optional), password (stored in encrypted form).
  • Profile data: preferred language, city or country, avatar (optional).
  • Usage data: saved places, reviews, search history (locally and on the server for sync).
  • Business data (for business owners): name, description, address, contacts, photos, opening hours, job listings, and promotions.
  • Geolocation: device coordinates — only with your explicit consent, to show nearby places. You may select a city manually without granting GPS access.
  • Technical data: device type, OS version, IP address, error reports (to improve stability).

3. Why we use data

  • Providing and maintaining the app (directory, map, search, owner dashboard).
  • Authentication and account management.
  • Showing nearby places (with geolocation consent).
  • Content moderation and catalog quality.
  • Communicating with you about support, updates, and security.
  • Analytics and service improvement (in anonymized form).

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract — providing app services after registration.
  • Consent — geolocation, push notifications (in the future), marketing emails.
  • Legitimate interest — security, abuse prevention, service improvement.

5. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared only with:

Data is retained for the duration of account use and up to 30 days after deletion (for backup recovery), unless otherwise required by law.
